History

Born in London on a snowy April day, Laura started ballet lessons as soon as she could walk.

The niece of Lady Tuck (the former Miss England and Miss World contestant) she was brought up in a very theatrical family. Bruce ForsytheLaura's mother Bonny Lou, and her sisters Nicky and Georgie all worked with the legend that is Bruce Forsyth and Laura remembers watching them all on TV. So it was only a matter of time before Laura would be following in their footsteps.

Laura Frey DancingLaura danced her way across Europe, doing can can in Paris, touring with the New Tiller Girls in Scotland, and working in London's Empire Talk of London Show in Tottenham Court Road. She was also a regular performer on the French Televsion Show Club Dorothee where she first got the presenting bug. During this time Laura also worked as an actress with a touring company and did various commercials both on screen and for voice overs, which inevitably led Laura to radio.

Laura Frey on RadioAfter being given the chance of a lifetime by Eric Wiltsher the director of the radio show Media Zoo to present on his show, Laura's career took a whole new and exciting turn. She was soon off to 10.17 radio, after which, Laura landed her first Breakfast show with Kev Lawrence at 102.7 Hereward FM. This was a dream job and kick started what has become a flourishing career. After 3 years on the show, Laura was poached by the Classic Gold National Network to work initially on the national lunchtime show, and afterwards to launch the all new Breakfast Show with Tony Blackburn & Laura Pittson.

The two were sponsored by Danish Bacon, and broadcasted at home and abroad, visiting countries such as Hong Kong, Australia, Lapland, St Lucia and even performing on a Mediterranean cruise!

As well as Laura's radio commitments with Tony, she was in demand as a soloist. She was chosen to present the Young Voices UK Tour at arenas across the country for two years running and performed to her biggest audience's ever at Sheffield, Manchester, and Birmingham arenas - all full to capacity.Laura Presenting Young VoicesThese shows were televised live and were very well received. On the Young Voices UK Tour Laura worked with Heather Small, and a young up and coming singer....the then unknown Katherine Jenkins!

The next stop careerwise for Laura was BBC Radio Oxford where she unveiled a whole new talent for a slightly more serious technique of broadcasting . Laura loved her time at the BBC, and honed her interviewing skills with great gusto. The lunchtime show had Laura interviewing lots of well known personalities about all sorts of topics, and she thrived on the atmosphere and the professionalism of the BBC environment.

During her time at the BBC, Laura could also be found on the weekly television series on Channel 4, Britain's Top Dog where she was watched by millions of viewers, and developed a great deal of fans for her pooch Tinkerbell!

Laura's next big challenge was anchoring the breakfast show for HertsMercury 96.6 FM This was the first time a female had headed up the breakfast show, and indeed at the time, there were no other females hosting a breakfast show completely alone . The ratings went up, and Laura's show went from strength to strength.

Lead roles in Pantomimes across the country have also featured in Laura's career, and thanks to her strong theatrical background Laura found herself back in the silver sandals!

After Herts Mercury it was time to head back to London for a guest slot on LBC, doing commentary for the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. What a perfect combination for Laura, radio, dancing, and a chance to watch Bruce Forsyth of TV again! This was a dream invitation for Laura, and her debut in commentary, which she took to with great ease.

Throughout the last decade, Laura has continued to write for various publications. At the time of writing this, Laura has been a columnist for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph (4 years), and is currently writing for Your Dog Magazine (4 years) and more recently she has been contributor for You & Your Wedding Magazine (to date).

The latest chapter in Laura's life is that she married Mark Frey on 25th May 2008, and inherited 4 stepchildren. Happy and focussed in her personal life, Laura is now looking for her next career challenge. Fasten your seatbelts!
