Laura hails from a family of performers. Her mother, Bonny Lou, a dancer, was one of the Allen sisters. Bonny Lou worked during the sixties, and back then there was rarely a TV show that didn't feature one of the Allen sisters

On the Pittson side of the family, Laura's Great Uncle, Lenny Pittson performed and toured with ENSA during the war, and also worked with great names. Known for his tap dancing routine, coupled with a piano act, he too had a great influence on Laura and she remembers trying to copy his fancy footwork as a little girl.
